good investment?

I'm so excited that, come June, i will get all my tax back.. and it will be easily $1000.. I feel a bit bad that my parents always buy me bags and stuff, so i thought this time i could buy it myself and feel so great that i actually saved myself and bought it with my own money. So i was wondering if there are any Aussie girls out there who know of a great designer bag investment that's available in Sydney. I know about all the designer shops and everything on Castleraegh Street and such, but does anyone know what type of bag a girl should get come June?
I was thinking something along the lines of Gucci or Louis Vuitton (usually my most hated brands, but i am actually starting to like their many different types of bags.. even if with their annoying logos everywhere).
I would appreciate it soo much if anyone could contact me on here or on fashionchat if you're on there (i'm taylorlovescouture).
Thanks!

I say don't invest in a gucci or lv cuz u really get bored of them after a while. Go for the new givenchy with the gold detailing. Or any of the new mulberry bags they are just gorgeous!! Loved the large and regular shimmy bag check it out here: http://www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/c113/3214/category/

Also, chanel is a great investment bag.

Hope this is helpful. Update us with what u decide on.

Go for a bag that will stand through the test of time! I say avoid LV bkos of the many fakes around. I love Jimmy Choo Riki Crushed patent bags atm. Search it up on google or something :)

Thanks so much for the comment on my blog Taylor. I just started it on Saturday!! =)
As for the bag Chanel is a great investment as always. I guess it depends on if your going for a classic or something new & edgy and exciting. I like the new Gucci heart tattoo bags, and the Hysteria's of course. Also Prada has some nice classic pieces, and I love Botega Veneta. Let me know what ya pick!!!

im not from australia but i thought i would put in my two cents...i would also say don't go for the "trendy" bag...chanel is classic of course, but i always love miu miu, givenchy, ysl etc. they seem to have nice leather bags that can be used from everday wear to evening :) hope that helps :)
